Founder

Dr. Mateo F. De Soto, MD

Dr. De Soto founded Bio-Behavioral Medical Clinics Inc. in 1991 after serving as corporate medical director for psychiatric mental health services at Community Medical Centers. He has been the president and chairman of Santé Community Physicians, California’s largest Independent Physicians Association, since it’s inception in 1995. He also serves as chairman of the board for the Santé Health Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting clinical research and community education. He is an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at UCSF and taught Psychopharmacology and Diagnostic Nosology.

Dr. Kenneth Steinbach, MD

Dr. Steinbach has been the Medical Director of BBMC since its founding and has been in practice since 1983. He specializes in adult psychiatry. His approach to treatment is somatic — a holistic therapeutic approach that incorporates a person's mind and body.
